I love the studio but sometimes it’s fun to be let out into the great outdoors. Here are some images from a recent commission for a family portrait in Rottingdean Village. As a Brighton portrait photographer I like location work because it’s challenging but stuff happens, a group of tourists positioning themselves behind the family, a kid from another family deciding they wanted to join in and finally the photobombing duck, can you spot it? — at Rottingdean Village, Sussex
These portraits were taken as a commission with the idea of having natural lifestyle images in a very pleasant location, with the young kids running around, which they could not do in a studio, the down side is that they do run around but I always have a box of tricks with me to keep their attention, my favourite is Tigger the glove puppet who sometimes finds his way into the photographs.
